Terms for guests
Last updated October 24, 2026
These terms are between you and Sentient Mind Ltd, which runs Craft Getaways. They cover using the site and paying your deposit through us. Your contract for the retreat is with its host.
When you book on Craft Getaways, you book a spot on a retreat sold and run by its host. Your contract for the retreat is with the host, not with us. Your booking is confirmed when your deposit payment goes through and we email you.
You must be 18 or over to book.
If you book spots for other people, you are responsible for your party. Share these terms and the host's rules with them.
Sentient Mind Ltd, which runs Craft Getaways, collects a booking deposit for the host as the host's payment agent. The deposit is the host's fee to us for the booking. When you pay the deposit, it counts as paying the host that part of the price, and it confirms your booking.
You pay the rest of the price to the host directly, the way the host's instructions say, by the date shown. We don't collect the rest and we don't hold it.
Your deposit payment goes through our payment provider, Stripe.
The price you see is the price you pay. Nothing is added at checkout. The deposit is part of that price, not on top of it. A host may not add a fee for paying the rest their way.
Found a lower public price for the same retreat and dates? Tell us and we'll ask the host to match it.
Cancel within 72 hours of booking, and we refund your deposit in full. If you book close to the retreat, this time is shorter: it ends at the end of the day before the retreat starts. After that the deposit is not refundable.
If the host cancels the retreat, or it doesn't go ahead, we refund your deposit in full, even if your booking was canceled earlier. If the host moves the dates and you choose a refund, we refund your deposit in full too.
Money you paid the host directly follows the host's policy, which the retreat page shows. The host refunds it, not us.
If the host cancels your booking only (not the whole retreat), they must tell you why. Your deposit is refunded only if this happens inside your free cancellation period. That's 72 hours after you book. If you book close to the retreat, this time is shorter: it ends at the end of the day before the retreat starts.
If you don't pay the host by the due date, the host can cancel your booking. Your deposit is then refunded only inside your free cancellation period.
If a host doesn't refund what it owes you, contact us. We'll contact the host and ask them to refund you. If they don't, we can remove them from Craft Getaways. We can't refund money we never held.
Read the refund policyIf something outside anyone's control, such as a storm or a flood, affects a retreat, neither we nor the host pay for costs outside your booking, such as flights or hotels. This never takes away a refund of money you paid through us.
Follow the host's rules and the venue's rules. Treat the host, other guests and the venue with respect.
Tell the host before the retreat about any health needs that matter for the activities or the stay. The host may ask you to sign their own form before you take part.
Some activities carry a risk of injury, such as using tools or moving around a venue. You take part at your own risk, as far as the law allows. This doesn't take away your rights if someone's carelessness harms you.
Craft Getaways is a marketplace. We list the host's retreat. We act for the host only to take your deposit, refund it under these terms and answer card disputes on it. We don't run the retreat. The host runs it and is responsible for what it includes.
We don't check that you've paid the host or that the host has refunded you.
We provide the site as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Hosts write their own listings and are responsible for them.
If you misuse the site, you cover the claims and costs that causes us. Misuse includes paying with someone else's card or sending abusive messages.
After a retreat, any disagreement about how it went, such as the venue, food, teaching or schedule, is between you and the host. We refund your deposit only as "Refunds" says.
Please contact us before you dispute your deposit with your card company. We can often put it right faster.
If you dispute your deposit with your card company, the card company decides the dispute. We give it the details of your booking and the refund rules you agreed to. If the card company decides for you, we cancel your booking and tell the host.
The host runs the retreat and is responsible for it. We aren't liable for the retreat itself, such as the venue, the rooms, the food or the teaching.
If we are liable to you, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us for that booking.
We aren't liable for loss that no one could have expected when you booked.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't let us limit. That includes death or injury caused by our negligence, and fraud.
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under the law.
If you have a dispute with us, please tell us first through Contact us, and we'll try to settle it with you. If we can't, you can go to court.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws where you live.
If you live in the US: we don't use this choice of law to take away rights that your state's consumer laws give you.
You can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Each booking keeps the version you agreed to when you booked. For bookings made since we started recording it, your booking page shows which one.
If the host cancels, the retreat does not go ahead, or you can't reach the host, tell us through Contact us.
To complain about a host, a retreat or us, use Contact us and give your booking reference. We usually reply within 1 business day. For a complaint about a host, we contact the host and ask them to put it right. If a host breaks our rules, we can remove them from Craft Getaways.
